We are developing advanced, high-performance PICs for next-generation optical transceivers. Our innovative solutions enable the high-speed data transmission required by modern data centers and cloud computing infrastructures. We are expanding our global footprint and are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Field Application Engineer to serve our key customers in the Taiwan region. 

Location: remote - Taiwan – Office (with required travel to customer sites).

Role Description

As a Field Application Engineer, you will be the primary technical interface for our customers in Taiwan, supporting them through the entire product lifecycle, from initial pre-sales engagement to post-sales technical support. You will collaborate closely with our sales, product management, and R&D teams to ensure customer success and drive business growth within the optical transceiver market. This is a unique opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with strong interpersonal and communication skills to solve real-world challenges with our innovative photonic IC solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Technical Support:

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to potential customers, understanding their application requirements and identifying the optimal use cases for our PIC products.
  • Provide compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations, clearly articulating our value proposition and competitive advantages.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute on technical sales strategies and achieve business targets.
  • Help prepare and present technical proposals, design-in plans, and other documentation for potential customers. 

Post-Sales Technical Support:

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance on both hardware and software integration aspects of customer designs.
  • Serve as the first and second-level technical support for customers integrating our PICs into their optical transceivers.
  • Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during design, validation, and manufacturing phases.
  • Collect and provide valuable customer feedback to the internal R&D and product management teams to inform future product development. 



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 Years proven experience as a Field Application Engineer or in a technical customer-facing role within the optical communications or semiconductor industry.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of photonic integrated circuits (PICs), high-speed optical transceivers for Data centers, and integration with high-speed DSP and other communications ICs.
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment used in photonics and high-speed electrical testing (e.g., sampling oscilloscopes, BERTs, optical spectrum analyzers).
  • Familiarity with the optical communications ecosystem in Taiwan and Asia.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is a must. Mandarin Chinese as a mother tongue, with high proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage your schedule effectively from a home office.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer sites across Taiwan. 
  • International travel may be required from time to time.
